It’s a bit of a misconception that making the most of Freshers’ Week involves seven days of constant partying and near-herculean feats of drinking. And yeah, chances are you’ll be doing your fair share of that and having a great time along the way, but it’s not the only thing you’ll be doing during your first week.

Making the move into your new home away from home is definitely an exciting time. You’ll meet new people from all sorts of different backgrounds, get your first taste of independence and have the chance to turn a room into your very own comfort zone. As you prepare to take the next step in your academic journey, there’s a lot of stuff to consider bringing with you, so it might seem pretty daunting at first.
