My stay at Nido is going very well, it’s great that I keep finding cool things to do and have had a lot of fun so far. I felt like popping out to experience some of the local area some more so off I went exploring. I found an Irish bar on the main road which ended up being a really nice place to grab a drink and take in some of the Olympic atmosphere that was still left over. During the Olympics, this was a hot spot for Irish sport lovers to come and cheer on whenever an Irish would take part in an event. The Paralympics are coming soon, so we would expect this to start again soon for yet again a wonderful atmosphere.
Sometimes I find it’s better and easier to stay at Nido than to go out. That may sound strange, but you can have some drinks with new friends in the courtyard area, or you can take part in the Karaoke events that are happening at the café. I went down for one of the nights in the café where there was a DJ, the music and atmosphere was great! Of course the Nido staff were there too and they were having a great time, even though they would be at reception the next morning ready to help with any issues you had. It’s great that they get involved and really care for residents!
Being a cyclist, I also wanted to make sure I got the most out of my bike rides as I am taking part in the upcoming London Bikeathon. Here is such an ideal location to cycle to the city and back from it, and it was easy to find my way back as there are many road signs.
So this has been a week of fun really. Of course I was working too, but Nido is mainly about the fun, and there is definitely a lot to be had in-between studying/working.
