I recently sat down with Cesar Cervantes, the Residence Life Coordinator at Nido. Cesar is from the big ol’ state of Texas, in the US of A. (Did you know that Texas is the second largest state in the US, both in area and in population?!) Cesar has a Bachelor of Art degree from St. Mary’s Univeristy in San Antonio, TX and a Master of Liberal Studies from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. I spoke about the Residence Life Coordinator role, so let’s just get right into the good stuff, shall we…
So Cesar, How old are you?
I used to wear Thunder Cat pyjamas and He-Man underwear…’nuf said.
Wow! That is old. I am surprised; you look much younger. I am sure some of the blog readers are googling right now to see who He-Man is.
How did you get to know Nido?
I was first introduced to Nido before I moved to London with my wife. I was researching online for student affairs positions and I came upon Nido’s website. I loved the fresh perspective on student living and am very fortunate to have been asked to join the team!
Well, we are so lucky to have you on the team. We couldn’t imagine this place without your energy and excitement. I can’t believe you have only been here since February 2012.
Tell us, what is your role at Nido?
I am the Residence Life Coordinator. I see my role as being a resource to students first and foremost. Since my position is live-on, I am priveleged to get to know the residents personally and find out how to make their stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Events and programming are another big part of my role and crucial to the social aspect of Nido Student. I aim to have our events reflect the needs and desires of our diverse student population. Additionally, I serve as a conduct officer to ensure the health and safety within our building.
I would totally agree with all of that. But you forgot to mention your mad Karaoke skills!!
